Lactic Peel

In the form of lactic acid peels, lactic acid, a naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) generated from milk, is used to rejuvenate the skin. These peels are a common option for anyone looking for a secure and efficient means to achieve smoother and youthful skin.

The Treatment Process:

A lactic acid peel treatment is usually conducted in a dermatologist's or aesthetician's office and follows a straightforward procedure:

  • Consultation: Prior to thetreatment, a consultation is conducted to evaluate the client’s skin type, medical history and skin issues. This step will help the dermatologist to select the appropriate peel strength.
  • Cleansing: In this step, the skin is cleansed to remove any filt, oil or makeup that could interfere in the effectiveness of the peel.
  • Application: The formulated solution will be applied to the treated area using a cotton pad or brush. The strength of the peel will determine for how long the solution will be on the skin.
  • Neutralization: Once the time has passed, the lactic acid will be removed using neutralizing solution or water. As a result, the exfoliating process is stopped and excessive acid exposer is voided.
  • Soothing and Moisturizing: To minimize the irritation and redness of skin, a calming serum or soothing mask will be applied. It is recommended to apply moisturizer and and sunscreen to protect the newly revealed skin.
  • Aftercare: Following the treatment, it's essential to follow the post-peel care instructions provided by the skincare professional. These instructions often include avoiding direct sunlight, using gentle skincare products, and staying hydrated.
